Arsenal are pushing ahead on two transfer fronts this summer, with the club set to return with an improved bid for Leicester City teenager Jeremy Monga and growing motivation to finalise a deal for Aston Villa winger Morgan Rogers.

Arsenal prepare fresh Monga bid

Arsenal are planning a second offer for Monga after Leicester rejected an initial approach. The 16-year-old is also attracting interest from Brentford and Newcastle, but there is confidence within the Arsenal camp that the winger is keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Any deal cannot be completed until after 10 July, when Monga turns 17 and signs his first professional contract at the King Power Stadium — a threshold that also allows Leicester to receive a transfer fee. The precise figure Arsenal intend to offer has not been disclosed, though negotiations are expected to resume shortly.

Monga made 30 appearances across all competitions for Leicester this season, accumulating more than 1,000 minutes of senior football. With the Foxes having been relegated to League One, the teenager is widely expected to seek a move to a higher level.

Rogers incentive sharpens Arsenal’s focus

Arsenal’s pursuit of Morgan Rogers has gained an additional edge following the publication of the Premier League’s 2026/27 fixture list, which schedules Arsenal’s visit to Villa Park for the weekend of 29 August. The timing gives the club a practical reason to move quickly, with pre-season integration and tactical preparation among the benefits of an early signing.

Manager Mikel Arteta is understood to be a keen admirer of the 23-year-old England international, who is seen as the marquee left-wing addition Arsenal are prioritising this window. Rogers has been valued at around £100m.

Arsenal are reported to have approximately £250m available to strengthen the squad as they look to defend the Premier League title and make a deeper run in the Champions League. Sporting director Andrea Berta, who helped oversee six signings in July last year, is expected to be central to any deals, with a midfielder, winger and potentially a striker identified as the primary targets.

No signings have been confirmed yet, though the club has indicated that announcements could follow the conclusion of the ongoing World Cup 2026.
