Arsenal favourites to retain Premier League as City and United eye resurgence in 2026/27
Arsenal are priced at 6/4 to retain the Premier League title in 2026/27, with Manchester City second favourites at 5/2 despite major summer departures, and a resurgent Manchester United fourth at 13/2 following their third-place finish under Michael Carrick.
Arsenal enter the 2026/27 Premier League season as title favourites at 6/4, according to Betfair, as the Gunners look to become only the second side in a decade to retain England’s top-flight crown. Manchester City are second favourites at 5/2, Liverpool third at 6/1, and Manchester United fourth at 13/2.
City’s odds reflect confidence that the club can absorb a significant summer overhaul. Pep Guardiola, Bernardo Silva, and John Stones have all departed after the end of last season, which saw the Blues fall agonisingly short of the title — a draw at Bournemouth on the final week of the campaign handed Arsenal the championship.
United’s 13/2 price comes on the back of a remarkable second-half-of-season revival under Michael Carrick, who was appointed permanently after the club sacked Ruben Amorim in January. From that point, United lost just two Premier League matches, ultimately finishing third — their best league position in several years. Despite that momentum, Betfair’s odds suggest the market expects them to drop one place to fourth in 2026/27.
Chelsea, now under new head coach Xabi Alonso, are the fifth most fancied side at 11/1, making them the only other club the bookmakers consider a realistic title contender alongside the traditional top four.
Aston Villa are next in the market at 28/1, followed by Newcastle United at 40/1 and Tottenham Hotspur at 50/1. Brighton are priced at 150/1, with Bournemouth at 200/1 and Everton and Brentford both at 250/1. Newly promoted or returning sides Sunderland, Leeds United, Fulham, Nottingham Forest, and Crystal Palace are each available at 500/1, while Ipswich Town, Coventry City, and Hull City are listed at 1000/1.
