Ancelotti at €10M, Cannavaro ahead of him: Deschamps only 7th best-paid manager at 2026 World Cup
At the 2026 World Cup, Didier Deschamps (€3.8M/year) ranks only 7th among the highest-paid managers. Carlo Ancelotti, Brazil's coach, dominates the hierarchy with €10M annually, while Fabio Cannavaro, in charge of Uzbekistan, earns more than the French manager.
Didier Deschamps is competing in his fourth World Cup at the helm of the France national team, with an annual salary of €3.8M — a remuneration that places him only 7th among the best-paid managers of the tournament, according to a ranking relayed by Ouest-France.
It is Carlo Ancelotti, appointed manager of Brazil, who dominates without question with approximately €10M per year. Behind him, Julian Nagelsmann (Germany, €7M) and Mauricio Pochettino (United States, €6M) complete the top three. Thomas Tuchel (England, €5.8M) and Roberto Martínez (Portugal, €4M) follow before a major surprise.
Fabio Cannavaro, 2006 World Cup champion turned manager, receives approximately €4M per year to lead Uzbekistan — more than Deschamps. His presence is all the more unexpected given that the Uzbek national team began the tournament with a defeat to Colombia (3-1).
Deschamps, in position for 14 years and crowned with the 2018 World Cup title, hopes to end his adventure at the helm of the Blues — he will leave his post after the competition — with a third title for France. Ronald Koeman (Netherlands, €3M), Marcelo Bielsa (Uruguay, €3M) and Jesse Marsch (Canada, €2.5M) complete the top 10.
