Allen and Duncan stake unbeaten streaks in UFC Vegas 122 middleweight main event
Brendan Allen and Christian Leroy Duncan will headline UFC Vegas 122 on October 10 at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, with both middleweights riding significant win streaks heading into the bout.
Brendan Allen and Christian Leroy Duncan will meet in the main event of UFC Vegas 122 on October 10 at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, the promotion confirmed on Tuesday, with both fighters carrying momentum into the 185-pound headliner.
Allen (27-7) enters on a three-fight winning streak after recovering from an earlier two-fight skid. The No. 7-ranked middleweight in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings scored a notable upset over Reinier de Ridder in the main event of UFC Vancouver before most recently defeating Edmen Shahbazyan by unanimous decision in June.
Duncan (15-2) has been equally impressive of late. The former Cage Warriors middleweight champion stumbled to a 3-2 start in the UFC but has since reeled off five consecutive victories — including decision wins over veterans Jared Cannonier and Roman Dolidze, and knockouts of Eryk Anders and Marco Tulio.
The matchup pits two of the division’s most in-form fighters against each other outside of the top five, with the winner likely to push firmly into title contention. Further bouts for the October 10 card are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
