Al-Hilal have made fresh contact with Barcelona over midfielder Marc Casadó, with transfer expert Matteo Moretto reporting that the 22-year-old’s departure from Camp Nou is looking increasingly likely. The Saudi club are said to be making progress on personal terms, though a gap remains between the two clubs on the transfer fee.

Casadó’s omission from Barcelona’s pre-season squad for friendlies against Nottingham Forest and Udinese has sharpened speculation over his future. His role in Hansi Flick’s plans has shrunk over the course of last season, and Barcelona are now actively looking to move him on this summer.

Barcelona are holding firm at close to €40 million for the midfielder, according to Goal, while Al-Hilal are expected to push for a lower figure as negotiations continue. The remaining gap on the fee is the central obstacle, despite the reported progress in agreeing terms with the player himself.

The potential sale is directly linked to Barcelona’s pursuit of Rodri. The club have identified Casadó’s exit as a means of freeing both squad space and transfer funds as they work towards a deal for the Manchester City midfielder. Any incoming midfield signing would form part of a broader reshuffle at Camp Nou.

With personal terms reportedly advancing and Barcelona’s valuation still central to the talks, Casadó’s future will hinge on whether the two clubs can bridge the gap on the fee. His exclusion from pre-season suggests Barcelona are already preparing for the possibility of his departure before the window closes.
