Zidane finalizes his staff: a "well-known" press chief to be appointed imminently
Appointed France manager in late July, Zinédine Zidane is about to complete his staff with the appointment of a press chief, a familiar figure from the audiovisual world whom Zidane worked with early in his career.
Zinédine Zidane is on the verge of finalizing the composition of his staff as head of the France national team. According to L’Équipe, the appointment of a press chief is to be made official “in the coming days”, with the person described as a figure “well known in the audiovisual world” whom Zidane worked with at the start of his career.
The new manager’s staff was presented by the French Football Federation (FFF) on July 28, the day after Didier Deschamps decided not to extend his contract. This press officer position was the main missing link, with journalist Estelle Denis having publicly raised the absence of women in the France coaching staff. No indication has emerged about the gender of the future press chief.
Beyond this recruitment, other adjustments are still under consideration to bring the total staff size to around twenty members, approximately twenty-three according to the sports daily. The FFF, under the responsibility of its president Philippe Diallo and general director Jean-François Vilotte, is working to finalize the remaining contracts.
On the sporting front, Zidane will lead his first training camp at the National Football Centre on September 21, just days before France’s entry into the Nations League. The schedule includes a first match against Turkey on September 25, a trip to Belgium on September 28, then hosting Italy at Stade de France on October 2.
