Adidas unveils Trionda Final ball for 2026 World Cup semifinals and final
Adidas has revealed the Trionda Final, the official match ball for the 2026 FIFA World Cup's semifinal, third-place game, and final. It marks the first time in FIFA history that a completely distinct ball design — rather than a recoloured group-stage ball — has been created for the tournament's closing stages.
Adidas has unveiled the Trionda Final, the official match ball for the closing stages of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking the first time in FIFA history that the sportswear brand has introduced a completely distinct design for the final rounds rather than simply updating the colour scheme of the tournament’s primary ball.
The ball will make its on-pitch debut during the semifinals, the third-place match, and the World Cup final. Lionel Messi, Jude Bellingham, and Lamine Yamal fronted the reveal campaign for Adidas, though each player still needs a quarterfinal victory before the Trionda Final sees competitive action.
The design draws its colour palette — gold, black, and white — from the FIFA World Cup trophy itself. The panel graphics also carry the names of the four final host cities: Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, and New York/New Jersey, grounding the ball’s aesthetic in the tournament’s North American setting.
In terms of performance, the Trionda Final shares the same construction as the standard Trionda ball that Adidas introduced in October 2025. It uses a four-panel build and incorporates connected ball technology, which feeds real-time positional data to match officials to assist with VAR and offside decisions.
Messi has scored seven goals for Argentina at the tournament so far, while Bellingham has netted four for England. Yamal, playing in his first World Cup, claimed the man-of-the-match award in Spain’s round-of-32 victory over Austria.
