A video that went viral on social media over the weekend allegedly shows an Edmonton police officer performing a suplex on a fan during a violent crowd brawl at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where UFC Edmonton was being held on Saturday.

The clip, which spread rapidly across social platforms, depicts an altercation involving fans, arena security, and Edmonton police officers. At the centre of the footage, an officer appears to grab a person from behind before launching them backwards with a suplex, sending them hard onto the arena floor. The impact left the individual visibly stiff. It also appears the person may have been subsequently tasered, though that portion of the footage is unclear.

MMA Fighting contacted the Edmonton Police Media Relations Department to verify the authenticity of the clip and to seek further details about the incident, but had not received a response at the time of publication.

The brawl in the stands provided an unwanted sideshow to an otherwise action-packed evening inside the octagon. UFC Edmonton delivered relentless in-cage entertainment, with 12 of the event’s 13 bouts ending by knockout or submission. The main event headlined by Canadian welterweight Mike Malott was among the highlights, as Malott secured a significant victory over Joaquin Buckley via knee knockout in the second round.
