Joaquin Buckley’s losing streak reached three fights on Saturday after Mike Malott stopped him in the second round at UFC Edmonton, but the welterweight is refusing to disappear quietly — he is inviting fans to watch every step of his comeback in real time.

Malott, fighting in his home country, landed a knee in the second round and followed with a punch that prompted the referee to wave off the contest. The defeat extends a difficult run for Buckley, who had previously won six consecutive fights before the current slide.

Rather than retreat from public view, Buckley took to Instagram shortly after the loss to announce he would document the entire rebuilding process — training sessions, team introductions, and the day-to-day grind of working back toward contention.

“Right now, we rebuilding and I want y’all to see the process, not just the results,” Buckley wrote in his post-fight caption. “The highs, the lows, and everything it takes to become who God called me to be.”

In a video posted alongside the caption, Buckley expanded on the idea, framing the project as a fresh start rather than a crisis.

“I realize that I want to document everything,” he said. “I want to document the process, I want to document the work, I want to document the team. This is really just starting back over from scratch; creating a new foundation and making something happen. I’m not going to stop; I’m going to keep working. And I’ll make sure that everybody remembers that name.”

The loss is a significant setback for a fighter who had positioned himself as a genuine welterweight threat during his six-fight winning run. Whether the open-door approach to his rebuild translates into results inside the octagon remains to be seen, but Buckley appears determined to control the narrative around his career.
