Fury threatens Paul with rematch after viral Halloween ejection clip reignites feud
Tommy Fury and Jake Paul have traded public insults after a clip allegedly showing Fury being removed from a Halloween event went viral. Paul mocked Fury on social media, prompting Fury to threaten a rematch and reference Paul's broken jaw from his December knockout loss to Anthony Joshua.
Tommy Fury and Jake Paul reignited their long-running feud this week after a clip allegedly showing Fury being ejected from a Halloween event for intoxication and inappropriate behaviour spread across social media, prompting a sharp exchange of insults between the two.
Paul fired the opening shot on Twitter, taking aim at Fury’s partner Molly-Mae Hague in the process. “Molly-Mae runs a business, raises the kids and pays the bills,” Paul wrote. “Tommy’s job was to not get kicked out of a haunted house. Couldn’t do it.”
Fury responded in kind, invoking Paul’s December knockout loss to heavyweight Anthony Joshua — a bout that left Paul with a broken jaw. “Well well well,” Fury wrote. “Look who can’t keep my name out their mouth. I’ll see you very soon buddy. Time to break the other side of your jaw. You fat tattooed prick.”
Paul was quick to shut down any suggestion of a rematch. “Never happening,” he replied. “Ship has sailed. You are daddy’s little girl who kisses boys instead of taking care of your own girls and kids.” Fury’s final word was equally blunt: “Don’t ever mention my name again in that case. Enjoy the loss for the rest of your life you first class bum.”
The pair first met in the ring over three years ago, with Fury claiming a split-decision victory to hand Paul his first professional loss and keep his own record unblemished. At the time, Paul had gone 6-0 against a field that included former MMA champions Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, and Ben Askren, NBA veteran Nate Robinson, and fellow influencer AnEsonGib.
Fury has continued to build his record since that win, defeating fellow influencer KSI and most recently Kenan Hanjalic to move to 11-0 as a professional. He had been linked to a bout with former UFC welterweight title contender Darren Till, but withdrew after Till suggested he might throw kicks during the fight. Fury instead took part in an exhibition against strongman Eddie Hall in June.
Paul, meanwhile, has not returned to the ring since the Joshua defeat and has yet to announce his next move.
