Vinicius Junior promised that Real Madrid would win the Champions League this season, on the eve of welcoming Inter Milan to the Santiago Bernabéu for the first match of the league phase.

“I hope we will win this 16th title. We are ready. It is our competition. Our performances have been disappointing these last two years. Our first objective is to finish in the top eight. The Champions League still excites us. This season will be different from the previous two, and we are going to win the Champions League,” said the Brazilian winger for Real Madrid TV.

The international also warned that the match against the Nerazzurri promises to be demanding. “Every time the Champions League arrives, it is different. We are ready for this match against a great team that will demand a lot from us. Inter is a very strong team physically, they defend with five defenders, which generally causes us problems, but the coach has the solution.”

Vinicius also acknowledged that several absences will complicate matters for the Madridistas, without specifying the names involved. “We have a few absences, which complicates things, but we will all give our best and I hope we can create this special bond with the supporters during these matches.”

After two disappointing European campaigns, Real Madrid approaches this edition under the pressure of a club accustomed to ruling the competition, with fifteen titles to its name.
