Torres and Godts called up, Mayulu left out: PSG squad for Rennes
For the trip to Rennes to close out Matchday 1 of Ligue 1, Luis Enrique has called up his two latest signings, Ferran Torres and Mika Godts, while leaving out Senny Mayulu, Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye.
Luis Enrique has named a 20-man squad for Paris Saint-Germain’s trip to Rennes on Sunday evening, a delayed match at Stade Roazhon Park due to the unplayable condition of the Parc des Princes pitch.
The two summer signings Ferran Torres and Mika Godts feature for the first time in the PSG squad. The Spanish striker, who scored in the last World Cup final, and the former Ajax Amsterdam winger were officially confirmed just before the Trophée des Champions.
Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye are absent from the squad, which comes as little surprise: both players are reported to be leaving and are close to a transfer to Liverpool. Nuno Mendes is also missing, suspended for three matches following the red card he received at the Trophée des Champions.
The most unexpected absence is that of Senny Mayulu. The 19-year-old midfielder, who wore the captain’s armband during several pre-season matches, was not selected on Luis Enrique’s decision — no injury is involved.
