Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have named their travelling squads for Saturday’s Champions League final in Budapest (kick-off 5pm), with all three players who had been doubts through injury making the trip to Hungary.

Jurrien Timber is part of Mikel Arteta’s party after the Dutch full-back was pictured boarding the plane on Thursday. The 23-year-old has been sidelined since March with a groin injury but returned to training this week, leaving Arteta with a potential selection boost ahead of the club’s biggest game in years. Arsenal arrive in Budapest having already secured the Premier League title, chasing an historic domestic-and-European double.

PSG have received similar encouragement on the injury front. Ousmane Dembele, who picked up a knock in the final Ligue 1 fixture of the season against Paris FC, has travelled with Luis Enrique’s squad despite missing training in the days since. Achraf Hakimi — who scored against Arsenal in last year’s semi-final — has also made the journey after being sidelined since the first leg of this season’s semi-final against Bayern Munich. The presence of both players in the travelling party suggests Luis Enrique considers them realistic contenders to feature.

The final pits the Premier League champions against the reigning European champions, with Arsenal bidding to become the first English club to complete that double since Chelsea in 2021.
