Salkilld targets UFC Sydney return after six straight wins including Dariush and Gamrot finishes
Australian lightweight Quillan Salkilld has signalled his desire to compete at UFC Sydney on February 7, posting "Reporting for duty #feb" on X after back-to-back finishes of Beneil Dariush and Mateusz Gamrot.
Quillan Salkilld is angling for a spot on the UFC’s Sydney Fight Night card on February 7, with the Australian lightweight publicly hinting at his availability on X after stringing together six consecutive wins inside the Octagon.
Salkilld posted “Reporting for duty #feb” on the platform, a thinly veiled signal that he wants to compete when the UFC returns to Afterpay Arena in Sydney. The 27-year-old earned his UFC contract through Dana White’s Contender Series and has not lost since stepping into the promotion.
His current run includes finishes of Beneil Dariush and Mateusz Gamrot — two names that carry real weight in the lightweight division. Dariush was a ranked contender for much of his UFC tenure, while Gamrot has consistently featured among the top-15 lightweights in the world. Back-to-back stoppages of fighters of that calibre have elevated Salkilld from prospect to genuine divisional threat.
The UFC’s most recent numbered event in Australia was UFC 325, held in Sydney on February 1 local time, and the promotion also ran a Fight Night card in Perth in May. A return to Sydney in February would continue what has become a meaningful foothold for the UFC in the Australian market.
No opponent or official booking has been announced for Salkilld at the Sydney event. His social media post amounts to a public declaration of intent rather than a confirmed fight, but given his recent form, it is unlikely to go unanswered by matchmakers for long.
