Pereira's coach Cruz stops DeMoor's stand-in then blasts him for pulling out injured

Plinio Cruz, the coach of former UFC two-division champion Alex Pereira, earned a second-round stoppage victory in his Misfits Boxing debut at the Copper Box Arena in London on Saturday — then immediately turned his attention back to the man who was supposed to be in the opposite corner.

Cruz had been scheduled to face social media personality Chase DeMoor, but DeMoor withdrew citing an injury and was replaced at short notice by his own coach, Gary Olive. Cruz dominated the contest and finished Olive inside four minutes of fighting, before taking to social media to share a screenshot of a direct message exchange with DeMoor that followed the bout.

In the messages, DeMoor wrote: “I’m embarrassed for you. But good fight, I guess.” Cruz responded with a pointed and colourful rebuke, challenging DeMoor to reschedule their fight and accusing him of avoiding the contest.

“You’re a loud ass p*ssy, come fight then, stop hiding behind a video with makeup on your face,” Cruz wrote. “Be a man at least once in your life and come fight me. The internet already hates you. Come fight before I end up burying your name for good before you even fight anybody else. But since I already heard that you’re dodging me to fight a fat 70-year-old man, I’m not gonna give you no more clout or hype. Tonight in 4 minutes of fighting, I got more hype than you got in your entire career on Misfits, and more clout than you got in your season of Grindr Island. Your time is up, Pinocchio. NO CHAMA.”

Cruz also posted the exchange publicly on social media, writing that DeMoor had “left his coach alone to fight me and now wanna talk shit.”

DeMoor has not publicly responded beyond the private message Cruz shared. Whether the two will eventually meet in the Misfits Boxing ring remains unconfirmed.
