UFC drops Michael 'Venom' Page despite four-fight win streak as Misfits sign him to multiyear deal
Michael 'Venom' Page has signed a multiyear, multifight deal with MF Sports after the UFC declined to renew his contract. The 39-year-old Englishman went 5-1 during his UFC tenure, finishing with a unanimous decision win over Nursulton Ruziboev in September.
Michael ‘Venom’ Page has signed a multiyear, multifight agreement with MF Sports after the UFC allowed his contract to expire, despite the 39-year-old Englishman closing out his tenure on a four-fight winning streak.
Page (26-3) went 5-1 overall in the UFC, capping his run with a unanimous decision victory over Nursulton Ruziboev in September. The promotion’s decision not to retain him surprised many given the momentum he had built, and it has now handed Misfits Boxing a marquee signing.
“I’ve been in combat sports for a long time and I’ve had plenty of options, but MF Sports is the right fit for me,” Page said. “They’re doing things differently, the energy is huge, and the fights are big. I’m excited for this new chapter, and I’m coming to show the boxing world what I can do.”
Page first made his name in Bellator, where his unorthodox striking style and highlight-reel finishes turned him into one of the most watchable fighters in MMA. That reputation followed him into the UFC, and it appears to have made him an attractive target for multiple promotions once his contract lapsed.
Misfits co-founder KSI moved quickly to frame the signing as a statement of intent for the promotion. “Michael Venom Page is one of the biggest names in combat sports, and everyone wanted him,” the social media star said. “For him to choose Misfits says everything about where we are as a promotion. He’s a superstar, he’s explosive, and fans are going to love watching him in the ring with us.”
The deal marks a significant shift for Page, who will now compete in a boxing context rather than MMA. His comment about showing “the boxing world” what he can do suggests his Misfits appearances will take place under boxing rules, a format that has grown rapidly in mainstream visibility in recent years.
At 39, Page is entering what is likely the final competitive chapter of a career that has spanned Bellator, the UFC, and now the crossover boxing space.
