Saha claims Osimhen is 'waiting' for Man Utd as Collyer seals West Brom move
Former United striker Louis Saha insists Victor Osimhen wants to join Manchester United, while midfielder Toby Collyer has completed a permanent move to West Bromwich Albion ahead of the summer transfer deadline.
Louis Saha has claimed that Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is actively waiting for Manchester United to make their move, as Michael Carrick’s side look to add attacking reinforcements before the summer transfer window closes. Separately, midfielder Toby Collyer has sealed a permanent exit to West Bromwich Albion.
Osimhen, 27, has attracted interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur this summer, but Saha — a former United striker — insists the Nigeria international would choose Old Trafford above all other options.
“I know for a fact that Victor Osimhen is a Manchester United fan,” Saha said. “He loves Man United. I have seen it in his eyes, the impact the club has on him, and he sees the impact he could have on this team.”
Saha went further, drawing a comparison with one of United’s most influential recent signings. “Osimhen can be another player like Bruno Fernandes. He would quickly come to know the club inside and out. All United have to do is make the connection — but that’s why it hasn’t happened yet. Osimhen is still waiting.”
The former forward also referenced United’s failure to sign Harry Kane, suggesting Osimhen now represents a better fit given the presence of Benjamin Sesko in Carrick’s squad. “United missed out on signing Harry Kane and that was one of their biggest mistakes in the transfer market, but they can correct that mistake by signing Osimhen,” Saha added. “I think Osimhen is a better fit for United now than Kane because of Benjamin Sesko. Osimhen can teach Sesko about movement and being a striker, but they could also play together and combine better than Kane and Sesko could.”
United have already reshaped their midfield this summer, bringing in Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and Carlos Baleba, while experienced goalkeeper Karl Darlow arrived as veteran cover for Senne Lammens. Attacking positions, however, remain unaddressed.
On the outgoing side, Collyer has completed a permanent transfer to West Brom. The 22-year-old made 13 appearances for United and had previously spent time on loan at the Championship club before agreeing to join on a full-time basis.
