Retired UFC champion Cejudo makes boxing debut against Deen The Great on September 26
Henry Cejudo, a two-division UFC champion and Olympic gold medalist, will make his professional boxing debut against influencer boxer Deen The Great on September 26 at James L. Knight Arena in Miami under the Misfits Boxing banner.
Henry Cejudo will step into a boxing ring for the first time as a professional on September 26, facing influencer boxer Deen The Great at James L. Knight Arena in Miami in a Misfits Boxing event.
The 39-year-old Cejudo, a former Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling and two-division UFC champion, retired from MMA for the second time in December following a decision loss to Peyton Talbott at UFC 323. The bout against Deen The Great marks his first competitive boxing appearance since winning the Arizona State Copper Gloves tournament back in 2010.
Since stepping away from the UFC, Cejudo has kept himself busy across combat sports. He returned to competitive wrestling with Real American Freestyle, competing twice under that banner — most recently dropping a points decision to UFC bantamweight Merab Dvalishvili. The pair are scheduled to rematch this Saturday at RAF 12 in Cleveland.
Deen The Great arrives with a 7-1 record in exhibition boxing, making him one of the more established names in the influencer boxing circuit. His most recent outing ended in a decision loss to Amado Vargas — son of world champion Fernando Vargas — at Misfits Mania in December.
The matchup pits a decorated combat sports veteran against a boxer who has built his reputation largely outside traditional professional ranks. For Cejudo, the Misfits platform offers a high-profile stage to test his boxing credentials, while Deen The Great faces arguably the most credentialed opponent of his career to date.
