Reims and Dijon take charge on Ligue 2 Matchday 5

Reims took the advantage on the pitch at Nancy’s Marcel-Picot stadium, while Dijon dominated Laval in the first half on Ligue 2 Matchday 5, Friday evening.

At Nancy, it was Fofana who broke the deadlock in the 29th minute. Following a scramble at the edge of the box, the Reims striker found the back of the net to open the scoring and put the Champenois in a strong position at Marcel-Picot.

At Dijon, Lago proved decisive twice in the space of a few minutes to make it 2-0 against Laval before the half-hour mark. The Burgundy side displayed collective control that put Laval in difficulty from the start.

At Clermont, the match against Boulogne-sur-Mer remained goalless despite several chances on both sides. Bianchini notably missed a golden opportunity, wasting a one-on-one with the Boulogne goalkeeper after a poor touch. In the opposing half, Becic attempted to provoke a penalty at the edge of the box, without convincing the referee.

At Rodez, the clash against Grenoble also began with a 0-1 scoreline in favour of the visitors. Magnin attempted an acrobatic heel flick from a corner, but failed to beat goalkeeper Olliero, who was alert on his line.

At Montpellier, MHSC pressed without success in the first half against Pau. Despite several attempts, including a missed shot from Ayem and a wasted chance by Benali at the far post, the Hérault side failed to convert their dominance.
