Paris Saint-Germain has decided to accelerate its pursuit of Ibrahim Maza, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder at Bayer Leverkusen, making the Algerian international a priority for the winter transfer window. According to insider account PSG Inside Actu, a first Paris offer is expected in the coming days, possibly during the international break.

This shift would come after PSG suffered a rejection on another attacking target. The club would be looking to strengthen its left flank, a sector it is also considering entrusting long-term to young Mika Godts — a move that tempers, according to RMC Sport, the reality of Paris’s interest in Maza. The French media outlet claims that the capital club’s management has no intention of making an offer this winter.

PSG’s interest in Maza had been confirmed by Sky Sport Germany, which reported a concrete approach. But Bayer Leverkusen is not making negotiations easy. Signed for €12 million, the player has seen his market value rise to €50 million. The German club, which extended his contract until 2030, does not wish to part with him mid-season and is even pushing for a new contract extension.

The matter remains suspended between the ambition displayed by certain Paris sources and Leverkusen’s announced resistance. The coming weeks, and notably the outcome of the international break, should clarify whether PSG is truly ready to engage in a financial battle to secure one of Bundesliga’s revelations this season.
