PSG Close to Selling Ibrahim Mbaye for €70M After Liverpool Negotiations Collapse

Paris Saint-Germain is on the verge of selling Ibrahim Mbaye to a club whose identity remains secret for €70 million, potentially rising to €80 million with bonuses. The 18-year-old winger, academy product and 2024 Titi d’Or winner, has been excluded from first-team training sessions until the close of the transfer window.

Liverpool, long considered the main destination, hit an insurmountable financial disagreement. While the Senegalese international had found contractual common ground with the Reds, the two clubs never managed to agree on the transfer fee. Liverpool valued Mbaye around €50 million and refused to exceed €60 million, far short of the €70 million net demanded by Paris.

The Reds had also attempted to include Mbaye in a “package” combined with Bradley Barcola, but PSG insisted on two separate negotiations. With Barcola remaining Liverpool’s absolute priority, the Mbaye deal was quickly sidelined on the English side.

Faced with this impasse, PSG’s management has widened the circle of interested parties. According to L’Équipe, a new club has positioned itself and is reportedly willing to meet PSG’s financial demands. The sale now appears imminent, with the player himself having been informed he can leave the club this summer.
