Police and football authorities investigate brawl involving adults and children at Welsh Under-15s match

A Welsh under-15s football match was halted by a violent sideline confrontation on Saturday after a brawl broke out between adults and young players during a Pembrokeshire League fixture between Hakin United and Pennar Robins.

Footage of the incident shows two adult men on the pitch before a player appears to kick towards one of them. The altercation then spills onto the sidelines, where one individual kicks another to the ground. A number of adults and young players are seen becoming involved, while spectators — including young children — can be heard shouting “woah, woah” and “calm down”.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed they received a report of a public order offence at Hakin Football Club on Picton Road between 12pm and 12.30pm on Saturday 12 April. “The matter has been recorded and allocated for onward investigation,” a police statement read.

The West Wales Football Authority (WWFA) has also launched a formal inquiry, stating the incident is being treated “extremely seriously” and will be examined under its disciplinary and safeguarding procedures. “The welfare and safety of all young players, coaches, officials and spectators remains of paramount importance,” the WWFA said in an official statement, adding that it would be inappropriate to comment further while the investigation is ongoing.

The Pembrokeshire League confirmed the matter had been referred to the WWFA for appropriate action. A spokesperson said incidents of this nature were “not commonplace” in Pembrokeshire football and expressed hope that any punishment issued would serve as a deterrent. Hakin United declined to comment in detail but emphasised that the protection of children remains the club’s highest priority.
