Pina's four-goal first half fires Barcelona to 7-0 Clásico rout over Real Madrid
Clàudia Pina scored four times before half-time as Barcelona demolished Real Madrid 7-0 in Liga F at Camp Nou on Sunday, watched by more than 40,000 fans, to stretch their perfect league start and open a five-point gap at the top.
Clàudia Pina scored four goals in the first half as Barcelona dismantled Real Madrid 7-0 in Liga F at Camp Nou on Sunday, extending the Blaugrana’s perfect start to the season and opening a five-point lead at the top of the table in front of more than 40,000 spectators.
Pina’s four-goal first half sets up the rout
Pina opened the scoring after just four minutes, breaking into the area to find the net. Real Madrid struggled to win the ball back, and Barcelona doubled their lead in the 28th minute when Pina converted the rebound after Ewa Pajor’s effort was blocked. She completed her hat-trick shortly after with a strike into the top corner, before Caroline Graham Hansen added a fourth. Pina then struck again before the interval to give herself four goals on the night and Barcelona a commanding 5-0 lead at the break.
Pajor added a fifth early in the second half, and Sydney Schertenleib completed the scoring late on with a long-range strike to make it seven.
Bonmatí returns as a welcome subplot
Three-time Ballon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmatí came on for the final 30 minutes as she continued her recovery from a broken leg, her appearance providing an encouraging footnote to an already dominant display.
The match had been delayed by two hours due to torrential rain in Catalonia, but Barcelona showed no sign of disruption once play began.
Context and consequences
The result continued a remarkable run of dominance for Barcelona in this fixture. According to The Guardian, Real Madrid had beaten Barcelona just once in 25 meetings across all competitions — a statistic that Sunday’s scoreline did little to challenge.
Barcelona have now won the Liga F title for seven consecutive seasons, and this victory reinforced their early grip on the table without yet settling the campaign. The five-point gap over their closest rivals is a significant early-season statement.
Barcelona’s next Liga F fixture is against Real Sociedad on 18 October, while Real Madrid face Espanyol on 17 October.
