Photos in Paris reignite PSG transfer rumours over Lamine Yamal
A romantic getaway by Lamine Yamal to Paris, shared on Instagram, has revived PSG supporters' speculation about a future transfer of the Barcelona prodigy, whom the French club had already tried to sign for €250 million two years ago.
A weekend in Paris, a few photos in front of the Eiffel Tower and a caption in French slang: that was all it took for PSG supporters to get excited about a potential Lamine Yamal transfer. The Spanish World Cup winner shared images on Instagram of his stay in the French capital with his new girlfriend, Inés García, accompanied by the title “Vacancia” by Marseille rapper JUL.
The post immediately set Paris social media ablaze. “Lamine Yamal loves Paris too much… One day, he’ll end up wearing the PSG shirt, I’m telling you,” one supporter wrote on X. Others took speculation further: “What if all the sales made by PSG this summer had just one objective, to prepare for Lamine Yamal’s arrival next summer?” Over at Camp Nou, some Barcelona fans expressed similar concerns: “Lamine Yamal is spending too much time in Paris, as a Barcelona fan that doesn’t reassure me about the future.”
This is not the first time the 19-year-old’s name has been linked with Parc des Princes. Last February, FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta himself confirmed a concrete offer from the French club: “Paris Saint-Germain offered us 250 million euros for Lamine Yamal two years ago. We refused. He was 17 years old… Some people thought we were crazy!”
Contractual reality, however, tempers the fantasies: Lamine Yamal is tied to Barcelona until June 2031, with a release clause estimated at one billion euros. At that price, even PSG will have to wait — or find a completely different strategy.
