Mike Perry’s homecoming headliner at Duel Arena 1 in Orlando ended in a first-round stoppage loss to short-notice opponent Brandon Jenkins on Saturday, with a dislocated shoulder playing a pivotal role in the finish.

Perry, known as “Platinum,” had his shoulder pop out of place during an exchange in the corner before Jenkins capitalised and forced the stoppage. The defeat capped a turbulent fight week that had already been disrupted when original opponent Dillon Danis withdrew just two days before the scheduled bout.

On Monday, Perry broke his silence on Twitter with a short but measured message, stopping short of addressing the specifics of the loss.

“Health is wealth,” Perry wrote. “The MMA lifestyle taking care of the body, mind and spirit. The gym helps the process of growing your strength, but strength is needed in other areas of life and should be exercised everywhere we go. Organize, be consistent, more recovery and stretching. Taking knowledge into my future endeavors. More to work for, more work to do.”

Perry had entered the fight in form, coming off a stoppage win over Nate Diaz on the Rousey vs. Carano card in May. The loss to Jenkins, who stepped in on short notice, represents a significant setback as Perry looks to rebuild momentum outside the UFC.
