Quillan Salkilld will carry a 13-fight winning streak into the main event of UFC Sydney on Feb. 7 at Afterpay Arena, where the Australian lightweight faces Benoit Saint Denis in front of a home crowd. The card airs Feb. 6 in the United States.

Salkilld lost his professional debut in 2021 but has not tasted defeat since, stringing together 13 consecutive victories. He earned a UFC contract via Dana White’s Contender Series in 2024 and has since gone 6-0 inside the promotion, finishing five of those opponents in the first round. His most recent wins came against ranked lightweights Beneil Dariush and Mateusz Gamrot, establishing him as one of the division’s most dangerous rising forces.

Saint Denis arrives in Sydney needing a statement performance after a jarring setback. The Frenchman, nicknamed “God of War,” had won four straight fights by stoppage before Paddy Pimblett submitted him in just 52 seconds at UFC 329 in July. That defeat snapped a run of form that had positioned Saint Denis as a legitimate contender in a stacked 155-pound division.

Now 9-4 in the UFC since his promotional debut in October 2021, Saint Denis will be looking to prove the Pimblett loss was an aberration rather than a turning point. He faces a Salkilld who has shown no signs of slowing down and will have the added advantage of fighting in his home country.

The matchup pits Salkilld’s relentless finishing instincts against Saint Denis’s experience and motivation to rebound, making it a compelling main event for the UFC’s return to Australia.
