Calvin Olson, an amateur MMA fighter who recently won at Guerrilla Fighting Championship 2, is in intensive care after sustaining a brain injury in a motorcycle accident. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help cover his medical and rehabilitation costs.
Amateur MMA fighter Calvin Olson is in intensive care after suffering a brain injury in a serious motorcycle accident, according to a GoFundMe fundraiser organised by Ivan Silva on his behalf.
Olson, who most recently competed at Guerrilla Fighting Championship 2, defeated Nathaniel Esquibel by second-round technical knockout in his latest amateur bout. Medical professionals are now monitoring him in the ICU as he begins what the fundraiser describes as a potentially lengthy recovery.
The campaign’s organiser says the accident has left Olson facing significant physical, emotional and financial challenges. Donations are being sought to assist with medical care, rehabilitation and day-to-day living expenses.
“No young man should have to face a battle like this without the support of those around him,” the fundraiser reads.
The appeal is directed at friends, family, fellow riders and the broader MMA community, urging them to rally behind Olson during his recovery.
