Salkilld headlines home debut against Saint Denis in UFC Sydney main event
Quillan Salkilld will make his first appearance on home soil when he faces fellow top-10 lightweight Benoit Saint Denis in the main event of UFC Sydney at Afterpay Arena on February 6.
Quillan Salkilld will headline his first event in Australia when he takes on Benoit Saint Denis in the main event of UFC Sydney at Afterpay Arena on February 6. The UFC confirmed the lightweight matchup on Tuesday.
Salkilld (13-1) has been one of the most impressive newcomers in the lightweight division since joining the UFC via Contender Series in 2024. Undefeated in six UFC bouts, the No. 7-ranked lightweight has finished five of those opponents and earned five Performance of the Night bonuses. His most recent outing saw him submit Mateusz Gamrot at UFC Vegas 120 in August.
Saint Denis (17-4, 1 NC) brings a contrasting profile to the Sydney main event. A UFC veteran since 2021, the Frenchman has twice edged toward title contention only to fall short at critical moments. He carries a 9-4 record inside the promotion, with his most recent appearance ending in a submission loss to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 329 in July.
The bout pits Salkilld’s momentum and finishing ability against Saint Denis’s experience and top-contender pedigree, with both men firmly inside the lightweight top ten. No other bouts have been announced for the card at this stage.
