Paris Court of Appeal Orders Mbappé to Compensate PSG for Abusive Conservatory Seizures

Paris Court of Appeal has ordered Kylian Mbappé to pay €60,000 to PSG in damages for conservatory seizures made on the club's bank accounts in spring 2025. The sum is symbolic compared to the €60 million the player obtained from the Labour Council in December.

Paris Court of Appeal has condemned Kylian Mbappé to pay €60,000 in damages to PSG, according to L’Équipe. The decision, handed down on 3 September, sanctions the conservatory seizures carried out by the player’s lawyers on the club’s bank accounts in April and May 2025.

These seizures, a precautionary measure generally reserved for creditors doubting their debtor’s solvency, were deemed disproportionate given PSG’s stature. The Paris club had then warned of the risk of being unable to “meet its sporting obligations”, a situation liable to result in FIFA disciplinary sanctions, potentially including a transfer ban. The court assessed the damage from this “cash unavailability” over forty-five days at €60,000.

The verdict remains largely symbolic given the stakes in the case. In December 2025, the Labour Council ruled in Mbappé’s favour in the main dispute, condemning PSG to pay him €60 million in withheld bonuses and wages. The player accused his former employer of blocking these sums; Nasser Al-Khelaïfi for his part cited breaches by the striker of his contractual obligations.

Having left as a free agent in 2024 to join Real Madrid, Mbappé and PSG continue to face each other in court, more than two years after the end of a collaboration that had long seemed unbreakable. This new condemnation, while having little financial weight for the French international, illustrates the persistence of a legal conflict that has not yet had its final say.
