Myktybek Orolbai and Jeremiah Wells have been booked for a welterweight clash at UFC 330 on August 15 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed.

Orolbai, 28, has quietly built one of the more impressive recent records in the 170-pound division. Since his UFC debut in November 2023, the Kyrgyz fighter has gone 5-1 across lightweight and welterweight, and now appears settled at welterweight. His current three-fight win streak includes stoppages of Tofiq Musayev and Jack Hermansson, plus a lopsided decision over Chris Curtis in his most recent outing this past March.

Wells enters the fight in front of his home crowd, having spent nearly six years on the UFC roster. The Philadelphia native bounced back from back-to-back losses against Carlston Harris and Max Griffin by earning a decision win over Themba Gorimbo last November. Fighting in his own city adds a layer of motivation — and crowd support — that could complicate Orolbai’s momentum.

The matchup pits a finisher on the rise against a seasoned veteran who knows how to grind out results, with the added dynamic of Wells drawing energy from a partisan home audience.

Orolbai first announced the bout on social media before it was confirmed by sources close to the promotion.

UFC 330 is headlined by a welterweight title fight between Islam Makhachev and Ian Machado Garry, marking the UFC’s return to Philadelphia with two championship bouts on the card.
