Tom Nolan emerged from UFC Vegas 123 with a victory over Renato “Money” Moicano and a clear idea of who he wants to face next: Polish lightweight contender Mateusz Gamrot. The 26-year-old Australian, who recently relocated to Auckland to train with City Kickboxing, named the former KSW champion as his preferred matchup when asked about his next step.

“I would like to fight Gamrot if I could pick one,” Nolan said. “I think he has an awesome style.”

Nolan’s interest in Gamrot is rooted in the belief that preparing for the Polish contender would force him to raise his level — the same dynamic he says drove his improvement ahead of the Moicano fight. “Yeah, I think it would force me to upgrade,” he said. “Like, I had to get better for this fight.”

Despite the enthusiasm, Nolan was measured about pushing for an immediate booking. He stressed there was no rush, saying he wants to return to his team first, identify areas for development, and talk through his options with his coaches before any formal callout is made.

The win over Moicano marks a significant step forward for Nolan in the UFC lightweight division. His move from Australia to New Zealand to join City Kickboxing — the gym that has produced champions including Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski — underlines his ambition to compete at the highest level. A fight with Gamrot, a seasoned contender with elite grappling credentials, would represent a considerable step up and, by Nolan’s own admission, exactly the kind of challenge he is looking for.
