Odsonne Édouard undergoes adductor surgery, to miss several weeks including North Derby
RC Lens announced on Wednesday that Odsonne Édouard underwent adductor surgery. The 28-year-old striker will be sidelined for several weeks, including the derby against LOSC on Friday.
Odsonne Édouard underwent adductor surgery on Wednesday morning, RC Lens confirmed in an official statement. The 28-year-old striker, troubled by chronic pain for several months, will be out for several weeks.
« Troubled for several weeks by chronic adductor pain, Odsonne Édouard underwent surgery on Wednesday morning », the northern club wrote, noting that the operation was successful.
The absence of the French international comes at a delicate time for Sang and Or. Already ruled out of the victory against Paris FC last weekend (2-1), Édouard will not be available for the North Derby against LOSC, scheduled for Friday at 21:05. This clash between the two northern clubs will take place without one of Racing’s most important strikers.
RC Lens said it will support its player throughout his recovery so he can return to action as quickly as possible. The exact length of his unavailability has not been disclosed, with the club simply mentioning « several weeks ».
