Ndiaye to City, Rowe to Atalanta: OM expects around ten million euros in sell-on fees

Unable to recruit this summer due to constraints imposed by the DNCG and UEFA, Olympique de Marseille could nonetheless receive unexpected financial relief before the close of the summer transfer window, thanks to a cascade of sales of former squad members.

The most lucrative deal concerns Iliman Ndiaye. Sold to Everton in summer 2024, the Senegalese striker is on the verge of joining Manchester City for 75 million euros. When he departed, Marseille negotiated a 10% sell-on clause, which should bring the club a substantial sum from this transaction.

Jonathan Rowe represents a second potential source of revenue. The English winger, transferred to Bologna last summer following an incident with Adrien Rabiot, has attracted the interest of Atalanta, ready to spend around 30 million euros. OM, which also holds a percentage on any resale of this player, could thus pocket several million euros more.

Finally, Ismaïla Sarr, currently at Crystal Palace and courted by Liverpool, is reportedly considering a power struggle to force his departure. A transfer of the Senegalese player would generate new compensation for his former Marseille club.

In total, these three operations could bring around ten million euros into OM’s coffers, a non-negligible lifeline for a club under close financial scrutiny and unable to act directly on the transfer market.
