Nantes sign two players and lose Guirassy on final day of transfer window
Bottom of Ligue 2 with just one point from four matches, FC Nantes officially confirmed the arrivals of midfielder Balthazar Pierret and left-back Amin Cherni, while allowing striker Herba Guirassy to leave for Young Boys Bern.
FC Nantes concluded the summer transfer window with a triple move: two signings registered and one departure confirmed, as the club sits in last place in Ligue 2 with just one point from four matches.
Defensive midfielder Balthazar Pierret has signed a three-year deal, with an additional year as an option. The 26-year-old, trained at OGC Nice, notably played in Serie A for Lecce before joining Red Star in January.
The second reinforcement of the day, Amin Cherni arrives on loan with an option to buy until the end of the season. The 25-year-old Tunisian international left-back comes from Turkish Süper Lig. He is Nantes’ tenth signing of the summer.
These two arrivals were preceded by a departure confirmed Monday afternoon: that of Herba Guirassy. The 20-year-old striker, French U21 international, leaves the Canaries three years after his professional debut to join Young Boys Bern in Switzerland.
Nantes will attempt to launch their season next Monday at La Beaujoire, facing Nancy.
