Nantes collapse 2-5 against Rodez and remain pointless after three Ligue 2 matches
Relegated at the end of last season, the Canaries suffered their third consecutive home defeat on Saturday against Rodez (2-5), despite a brace from Killian Corredor. Michel Der Zakarian is under mounting pressure.
FC Nantes have still not earned a single point in Ligue 2. On Saturday, at La Beaujoire, the Canaries lost 2-5 to Rodez in matchday three, suffering their third consecutive defeat since the start of the season.
The evening had started well for Michel Der Zakarian’s side. Killian Corredor scored a brace in the first half to give Nantes the lead twice, but the yellow-and-green collective could not hold on. Ibrahima Baldé scored a decisive hat-trick for Rodez, who turned the match around and inflicted a heavy defeat on an FC Nantes side in full crisis.
Following defeats to Red Star (0-1) and Laval (2-1), this new home loss underscores the scale of difficulties facing a relegated club struggling to find its footing at the lower level. Der Zakarian, already under pressure before this match, sees his position weaken further.
Next week, Nantes travel to Guingamp with the obligation to claim their first points of the season.
