Mike Tyson will be honoured at the third edition of Kings Championship in São Paulo, Brazil on Nov. 21, receiving a commemorative plaque from trainer Rafael Cordeiro to mark 40 years since he became the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history.

Tyson was just 20 years old when he stopped Trevor Berbick in Las Vegas on Nov. 22, 1986, claiming the World Boxing Council heavyweight title in one of the sport’s most iconic moments. Cordeiro, who has worked with Tyson as a trainer, said the occasion carries deep personal meaning.

“Honoring Mike Tyson in Brazil and at my event is an amazing honor for me. Being around him was a unique privilege that allowed me to know the man behind the legend,” Cordeiro told Sherdog.

Tyson’s visit to São Paulo extends beyond the ceremony itself. He is scheduled to attend the Kings Championship press conference on Nov. 20 before visiting the Brazilian Boxing Confederation’s training center the following day to meet children participating in a community programme. He is also expected to promote his brand of cannabis-derived products at a trade fair in the city.

The Kings Championship 3 card will feature eight MMA bouts alongside two boxing matches. The main event sees Jonathan Machado take on Vitor Costa for the middleweight title at the Mauro Pinheiro Multi-Sport Gymnasium.
