McGregor brings his four children to UFC 329 after they missed his broken leg in 2021
Conor McGregor has revealed his four children will attend UFC 329 on Saturday to watch him fight Max Holloway — the first time any of them will see him compete live. McGregor said he was relieved none of them witnessed his gruesome leg break against Dustin Poirier in 2021.
Conor McGregor’s four children will be ringside at UFC 329 in Las Vegas on Saturday when he faces Max Holloway, marking the first time any of them will watch their father compete in person.
McGregor confirmed the children arrived in Las Vegas on Tuesday ahead of his comeback fight — his first in five years. Despite being deep in fight-week preparations, the former two-division UFC champion carved out time to see them before returning to his training base to make weight.
“I’ll spend some time with them, feed them, put them to bed and go back to the house, my house, where my coaches and my team are and begin to make the weight,” McGregor said.
McGregor’s eldest son was born in 2017, with three more children following in 2019, 2021 and 2023. Despite those years of opportunity, McGregor had never felt comfortable bringing them to a fight — a caution that proved well-founded when his most recent bout, against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, ended with a horrific broken leg in the first round.
“I am happy how it went the last time I didn’t bring them,” McGregor said. “I was away for camp. Camp was very good. The damage in the leg and just the hostility of it all, it just wasn’t the place. I was happy and thankfully they weren’t there to witness the leg break. That’s it.”
Now fully recovered and back in the octagon, McGregor said the timing finally felt right. He framed his return to competition primarily around his passion for the sport, but made clear that having his children witness the moment adds a deeper layer of motivation.
“I’m going to go for it this time,” McGregor said. “My inspiration and my aim is let them watch their daddy in all his glory and our god.”
