Masvidal reveals unnamed UFC stars sang and brought Harrison flowers at American Top Team
Jorge Masvidal has disclosed that several well-known fighters made elaborate attempts to court UFC women's bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison at their shared gym, American Top Team — though Harrison, a single mother of two, says she does not date fellow fighters.
Jorge Masvidal has revealed that multiple high-profile fighters went to striking lengths to court UFC women’s bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida — serenading her and arriving with flowers — though Harrison says she has a firm rule against dating fellow competitors.
Masvidal, who has trained alongside Harrison (19-1) at American Top Team for years, recounted the episodes on the “Deep Waters” podcast without naming the fighters involved. “I won’t say the names, but Kayla has had some interesting proposals,” he said. “I’ve seen some guys go all out for Kayla. Singing, flowers, everything. We can’t say the names because everybody knows them.”
Masvidal was clear that he was not among those who made advances, and Harrison has publicly stated she does not pursue relationships with fellow fighters. The champion is also a single mother of two.
Harrison claimed the UFC women’s bantamweight title in June 2025, submitting Julianna Pena with a kimura. The two-time Olympic judo gold medalist has not fought since, having undergone neck surgery earlier this year. She is scheduled to make her first title defence against former two-division champion Amanda Nunes (23-5) at UFC 334 on 14 November at Madison Square Garden in New York.
