Manchester United have reshaped their squad significantly this summer, completing six incomings and 15 outgoings ahead of the Premier League transfer deadline on Tuesday, September 1 at 11pm.

The most significant arrival is midfielder Andrey Santos, signed from Chelsea for £48 million plus £2 million in add-ons, followed by Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa for £35 million. Tynan Thompson arrived from Tottenham Hotspur for £4 million — with a further £4 million in potential add-ons — while goalkeeper Karl Darlow joined on a free transfer to provide cover for Senne Lammens. Young prospects Kit Margetson (free, with compensation owed to Swansea City) and Cristian Orozco from Fortaleza CEIF for an undisclosed fee round out the incomings.

On the outgoing side, striker Rasmus Hojlund’s early-window departure to Napoli for £38 million was the headline exit. Goalkeeper Andre Onana has returned to Trabzonspor on loan, while fellow stoppers Altay Bayindir (Celta Vigo, loan) and Radek Vitek (Middlesbrough, £14 million) have also left. Several younger players have moved out on loan or for undisclosed fees, including Sekou Kone and Tyler Fredricson to Lausanne-Sport, Elyh Harrison to Greenock Morton, Ethan Williams to Peterborough United, and Ethan Ennis to Stockport County.

Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho have all departed at the end of their contracts, along with academy players Sonny Aljofree, James Bailey, and Malachi Sharpe.

United are still targeting a midfielder and a left-back before the window closes, with Champions League football returning to Old Trafford this season adding urgency to their recruitment. Marcus Rashford’s future had been one of the summer’s lingering uncertainties, but the winger appears increasingly likely to remain after reintegrating into first-team training and featuring in the final pre-season fixture against AC Milan in Wroclaw, Poland.
