Manchester City target Everton's Ndiaye to fill void left by £135m Savio and Marmoush exits

Manchester City are targeting Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye as they seek to rebuild their attacking options following the departures of Savio and Omar Marmoush to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

City were left short on the flanks after Spurs purchased Savio for an initial £75m and took Marmoush on loan with an obligation to buy for £60m — a combined outlay of £135m that has stripped Pep Guardiola’s squad of two players who each made 36 appearances last season.

Ndiaye, 25, has scored 15 Premier League goals across his two seasons at Everton and has established himself as one of the division’s more reliable wide forwards. The Senegal international is now understood to be on City’s shortlist as they look to add depth behind first-choice wingers Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo.

Any approach for Ndiaye could involve Jack Grealish moving in the opposite direction. Everton manager David Moyes borrowed Grealish last season and has been keen to make the arrangement permanent. The England international, who cost City £100m in 2021, is entering the final year of his contract at the Etihad.

Moyes has already added wingers Tyrique George and Brennan Johnson this summer but has indicated he believes his squad is smaller than it was last season and that further reinforcements are needed — leaving the door open for a deal that could suit both clubs.

City have been active in the transfer market despite their outgoings. They have agreed a £32m fee with Palmeiras for Brazilian winger Allan, and have spent around £220m in total this window, primarily on midfielders Elliot Anderson and Ayyoub Bouaddi. Including Allan, that figure would rise above £250m.

On the income side, City have brought in close to £290m, a total that will climb towards £350m once Marmoush’s sale is formally completed.
