Manchester City loan Marmoush to Tottenham with £60m permanent deal agreed for next summer
Manchester City have confirmed Omar Marmoush will join Tottenham Hotspur on loan for the season, with a £60m permanent transfer already agreed for next summer. The Egypt international becomes the latest high-profile departure from the Etihad under new head coach Enzo Maresca.
Manchester City have confirmed Omar Marmoush will spend the season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, with a £60m permanent deal already agreed between the clubs to be completed next summer. The 27-year-old Egypt international is the latest in a string of departures from the Etihad under new head coach Enzo Maresca.
Marmoush joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 and made 62 appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals. In a statement confirming the move, City wrote: “Everyone at City would like to wish Omar good luck with his loan switch to Spurs.”
The transfer makes Marmoush the second player to swap Manchester City for Tottenham this summer, following winger Savinho’s earlier move to north London. The scale of City’s summer rebuild has been significant: Tijjani Reijnders, James Trafford, Rodri, Nico Gonzalez and Savinho have all been sold, while Bernardo Silva and John Stones departed on expiring contracts.
City had indicated earlier in the window that they intended to replace any outgoing player before the transfer deadline closes. Brazilian forward Allan, currently at Palmeiras, is understood to be on his way to the Etihad, with an official announcement expected within days.
