Man Utd agree £37m Ederson deal as Arsenal eye Rogers and Liverpool seek Salah replacement
Manchester United have agreed a £37m deal to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson, while Arsenal are linked with Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers and Liverpool search for a successor to Mohamed Salah following his confirmed Anfield departure.
Manchester United have agreed a £37 million deal to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson, making them the first Premier League club to complete a significant piece of summer business. Manager Michael Carrick, appointed permanently after guiding the club back into the Champions League, is now targeting further reinforcements in midfield.
Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson is understood to be United’s priority second signing, sitting at the top of their transfer wishlist as Carrick looks to build a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts. Outgoings remain a pressing concern too, with Marcus Rashford’s future still unresolved after Barcelona reportedly decided against activating their option-to-buy clause.
Premier League champions Arsenal are also active in the market and have been linked with a move for Aston Villa playmaker Morgan Rogers. The England international has attracted interest from United and Chelsea as well, with all three clubs monitoring the attacking midfielder following a strong start to the season.
Liverpool face perhaps the most significant rebuild of any top-flight side this summer after Mohamed Salah’s departure from Anfield was officially confirmed. Arne Slot’s side have been linked with Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola as potential replacements, though a move for Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon appears to have been ruled out after he underwent a medical at Barcelona.
