Liverpool target PSG's Barcola in £100m-plus summer push after Salah exit
Liverpool have placed PSG winger Bradley Barcola at the top of their summer transfer wishlist, with reports suggesting the club will go 'all in' to sign the France international. PSG are expected to demand a fee exceeding £116m.
Liverpool have identified Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as their primary transfer target this summer, with the club reportedly prepared to make an aggressive move for the France international following Mohamed Salah’s departure.
Barcola, 22, has been placed at the top of Liverpool’s wishlist as they seek to add attacking depth to their squad. Caught Offside reports the club are planning to go “all in” to secure his signature, though any deal will come at a significant cost.
PSG are under no financial pressure to sell. Having recently offloaded striker Gonçalo Ramos for close to £60m, the French champions are in a position to hold firm on their valuation. The club view the £116m Manchester City paid for Elliot Anderson as a benchmark and consider Barcola a considerably more valuable asset — meaning any serious offer would need to exceed that figure.
Barcola’s future at PSG is not entirely settled. The club have offered him an extension to his current deal, but the winger is weighing his options, with a desire for more regular game time understood to be a key factor in his thinking. That uncertainty has encouraged Liverpool’s interest, though a swift resolution appears unlikely.
The winger is currently representing France at the World Cup, where he has already made a meaningful contribution — scoring in victories over both Sweden and Senegal. France are among the favourites to go deep in the tournament, and Barcola is expected to remain involved through the latter stages, pushing any transfer negotiations into the later weeks of the summer window.
Liverpool are not alone in their pursuit. Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the 22-year-old, adding a domestic dimension to what could become one of the summer’s most expensive transfers.
The need to strengthen the attack at Anfield is clear. Salah’s exit leaves a significant void, and the club’s record signing Alexander Isak endured a difficult season, making the addition of a proven wide forward a priority for Arne Slot heading into next campaign.
