Liverpool is in negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain to recruit Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, but the English club is hitting a wall over PSG’s financial requirements. The two wingers were absent from the Trophée des Champions on Sunday, fueling speculation about their future.

PSG is demanding at least €150 million for Barcola, a price Liverpool considers excessive despite confirmed interest in the former Lyon player. The Reds, who have already made significant investments in the previous summer transfer window, are seeking to negotiate lower, though the balance of power is not necessarily in their favor as the deadline approaches.

The Mbaye situation follows the same logic. Fabrizio Romano confirms that Liverpool has made contact with the Senegalese international’s entourage, who would reportedly be attracted to the Reds’ project. But again, the price demanded by Paris is deemed too high by the Merseyside club.

The dual pursuit is explained by Liverpool’s urgent need for reinforcements on the offensive flank. Mohamed Salah’s departure has left a considerable void, and a potential sale of Cody Gakpo to Tottenham would force the Reds to recruit two wingers before the market closes.

On the Paris side, the club has already made significant progress in its transfer business by recruiting Ferran Torres, Mika Godts, Lucas Digne and Maghnes Akliouche, while selling Gonçalo Ramos, Lee Kang-In and Randal Kolo Muani. Bolstered by these sales, PSG feels in a strong position to maintain its pricing demands. Two weeks remain for the two parties to find common ground.
