Manchester United insist Bruno Fernandes is not for sale despite Galatasaray interest
Manchester United have made clear they will not entertain any offer for captain Bruno Fernandes this summer, with club sources stating he is unavailable at any price despite reported interest from Galatasaray.
Manchester United have firmly shut the door on any potential sale of Bruno Fernandes this summer, with club sources insisting the Portugal international is not available at any price despite reported interest from Galatasaray in the final weeks of the transfer window.
The Turkish club are understood to be attracted by the prospect of signing Fernandes partly due to a favourable tax rate available to top-flight players in Turkey. United, however, are not prepared to consider offers for their captain, and sources have gone as far as to state his availability is simply not on the table.
Fernandes, 30, enjoyed one of his finest individual seasons in 2024-25, winning a fifth Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award and breaking the Premier League assist record on the final day of the campaign. He remains central to Ruben Amorim’s plans at Old Trafford.
This is not the first time Fernandes has been linked with a departure. He rejected an approach from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal last year in favour of remaining at United, though he made headlines in December when he suggested the club had encouraged him to make that move. United sources were adamant at the time that Fernandes had been told he was key to the club’s future.
The midfielder himself spoke in October about how the club had echoed Amorim’s desire for him to stay, and he is understood to be settled in England. Earlier this year, Fernandes described how “special” it would be to lead United to Premier League glory again after more than a decade without the title.
Fernandes’ contract runs until the summer of 2027, with United holding an option to extend it by a further year — a contractual position that gives the club considerable leverage should any suitor push harder before the window closes.
