Liverpool have officially announced the transfer of Djylian N’Guessan from AS Saint-Étienne for €5 million. The English club confirmed that the 18-year-old striker will officially join the Reds in January before being immediately loaned to Stade Brestois for the remainder of the 2026-2027 season.

Formed at Saint-Étienne, N’Guessan has made 13 appearances for the club’s first team since his debut in January 2025, scoring one goal. Regarded as one of the standout prospects from the Saint-Étienne academy, he is making a direct leap to one of Europe’s most decorated clubs.

The deal includes a sell-on clause in Saint-Étienne’s favour, which would allow the Greens to benefit from future profit if Liverpool were to sell the player at a higher price. A move that provides financial relief to the Ligue 1 club.

For N’Guessan, the loan to Brest represents a logical step: Stade Brestois, a Ligue 1 side, will offer him regular playing time to continue his development before joining Liverpool’s squad.
