Liverpool agree £100m fee with PSG to sign France winger Bradley Barcola

Liverpool have agreed a fee with Paris Saint-Germain for France winger Bradley Barcola, with the guaranteed sum coming in at just over £100m and the total package rising to as much as £120m including add-ons.

The deal is not yet finalised, but Liverpool secured a breakthrough after pursuing Barcola throughout the summer transfer window. The agreed fee is significantly below the £145m PSG had initially demanded, with Liverpool prevailing in protracted negotiations.

Barcola is set to become the second most expensive signing in Liverpool’s history, behind only Alexander Isak, who joined last summer for £125m. His arrival is framed as part of Liverpool’s broader search for a successor to Mohamed Salah, who departed on a free transfer and has since joined Trabzonspor, though Barcola predominantly operates on the left flank rather than the right.

The 22-year-old had two years remaining on his contract at Parc des Princes and had also attracted interest from Arsenal before Liverpool moved decisively to secure his signature.

Liverpool’s pursuit of wide options this summer was extensive. The club submitted a €100m offer for Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, who ultimately chose Real Madrid over both Liverpool and PSG. They also made bids of £50m and £60m for Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh and held discussions over Crystal Palace’s Ismaila Sarr before settling on Barcola.

Barcola is expected to become Liverpool’s third summer signing, following Jeremy Jacquet — whose move from Rennes was arranged in January — and Victor Munoz, a winger brought in at head coach Andoni Iraola’s request.

PSG have already moved to cover Barcola’s departure, adding three forwards this summer in World Cup winner Ferran Torres, Magnes Akliouche, and Mika Godts.
