LOSC has concluded a principle agreement with Feyenoord Rotterdam for the transfer of Ayase Ueda, according to information from Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, confirmed by L’Équipe on Sunday. The 28-year-old Japanese striker is expected in Lille on Monday to undergo his medical examination and sign his contract.

The transfer fee is set at €15 million. Ueda arrives as a replacement for Matias Fernandez-Pardo, whose departure to Newcastle in the Premier League is now confirmed.

The Japanese international (43 caps, 18 goals) finished as Eredivisie’s top scorer last season with 25 goals in Feyenoord Rotterdam colours. His profile as a prolific finisher matches the priority set by the Dogues in this final stretch of the summer transfer window.

With this recruitment, Lille compensates for the loss of a key attacking player while betting on a striker at the peak of his maturity, backed by a standout season in the Netherlands.
