Kinghorn and Jones return to Scotland squad after injury absences for November Tests
Blair Kinghorn and Huw Jones are back in Gregor Townsend's Scotland squad for the Nations Championship after missing the summer through injury. The pair, who have 131 caps between them, are named for three Murrayfield Tests against New Zealand, Australia and Japan.
Blair Kinghorn and Huw Jones have been recalled to Scotland’s squad for the Nations Championship after overcoming injuries that kept them out since the Six Nations, with Gregor Townsend naming a 37-man group for three November Tests at Murrayfield.
The experienced pair — Toulouse wing Kinghorn (68 caps) and Toulon centre Jones (63 caps) — were rested over the summer before returning to fitness in time for Scotland’s home fixtures against New Zealand on 7 November, Australia on 15 November, and Japan on 21 November.
Sione Tuipulotu captains the squad, while the headline selection among the uncapped players is Newcastle back-row Ollie Leatherbarrow. The 24-year-old, who qualifies for Scotland through his Perth-born grandmother, began his career at Exeter Chiefs before joining Newcastle in 2023 and has previously represented Scotland at Under-16 and Under-20 level.
Scrum-half George Horne, currently on 47 caps, stands to reach the milestone of 50 Scotland appearances if he features in all three Tests.
The squad is heavily drawn from Glasgow Warriors, who contribute 17 of the 37 players, with Edinburgh Rugby providing a further five. Bath’s Finn Russell (95 caps) and Jonny Gray of Perpignan (83 caps) are among the most experienced names in the group alongside the returning Lions duo.
