Kelly Cates will present Saturday’s Match of the Day and Gabby Logan will front Sunday’s edition, the BBC has confirmed, with Mark Chapman rotating out after hosting last weekend’s programme.

The trio — Chapman, Cates, and Logan — have shared presenting duties on the flagship highlights show since January 2025, when the BBC announced they would collectively replace long-serving host Gary Lineker. The three rotate on a week-by-week basis.

Cates will be joined in the Saturday studio by former Liverpool and Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy and ex-Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart. The episode will cover five Premier League fixtures: Everton vs Chelsea, Brentford vs Liverpool, Fulham vs Hull City, Manchester City vs Ipswich Town, and Newcastle vs Aston Villa.

Sunday’s programme, hosted by Logan, features former top-flight goalkeeper Shay Given and BBC pundit Dion Dublin. Four matches will be covered: Bournemouth vs Sunderland, Brighton vs Crystal Palace, Leeds vs Manchester United, and Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal.

Off the pitch, Cates and Chapman have attracted public attention after reports emerged 11 days ago that the two presenters had begun dating. Chapman, who lost his wife Sara to cancer in 2020 after nearly two decades of marriage, and Cates, who separated from TV producer Tom Cates in 2021 after 14 years together, were most recently seen together on Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox in July.

Cates, the daughter of Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish, joined the BBC’s Match of the Day rotation having previously led Premier League coverage for Sky Sports.
